Donnie Darko and Pulp Fiction film screenings
QED provided specialist projection facilities for the Stella Artois outdoor film screening events held over the summer in London and Manchester. Twin stacked XF45s with long throw zoom lenses were used to achieve nearly 20,000 ANSI lumens of brightness onto a specially constructed 23.5m x 10m outdoor screen. The extra brightness ensured that all the bespoke video material could be seen in the extremely high ambient light conditions by the 10,000 people gathered for each event. The precise construction of the QED frames enabled rapid doubling and lining up of the projectors.
In London the projection accompanied a live orchestral performance of the Donnie Darko score with a guest appearance by the score's composer Michael Andrews. In Manchester the projection accompanied a special Pulp Fiction set by the Fun Lovin' Criminals.
