Sanyo XF46 - First UK appearance. 3 x 12,000 ANSI lumens onto one screen.
QED provided a massive ultrawidescreen system for Spar Supermarkets' trade show at the Westpoint Centre, Exeter. Organised and produced by Plymouth based production specialists Pyramid Presentations QED provided the ultrawidescreen equipment and expertise as well as three of the new 12,000 ANSI lumen Sanyo XF46 LCD projectors.The three XF46s threw nearly 36,000 ANSI lumens of brightness onto the 60ft wide 2842 x 768 pixel resolution ultrawidescreen canvas. With such a large screen and with such an extensive lighting system the very highest brightness was required in order to ensure that the spectacular lighting and show effects did not need to be compromised.
The show provided the perfect opportunity to premier the new projectors. In addition to the extra 2,000 ANSI that the XF46 provides over its XF45 predecessor the increased contrast ratio (1300:1) is also very useful for edge-blending applications. The technical improvements were obvious, but probably the best news for technicians familiar with the XF45 is that Sanyo have now produced an operator friendly remote control!
